ELECTROLUX Gas Boiler Trouble shooting

Error code E1 - No flame on the burner

If an E1 error occurs on the boiler, make sure that the flame is not present on the burner. Check the position of the shut-off valves on the gas main to the gas valve. Are all taps open? If not, open all the shut-off devices installed on the gas pipe. In the event of a primary start-up, make sure that air is vented from the pipeline. Is air bleeding from the gas supply? If not, bleed the air. Check the gas inlet pressure in front of the gas fittings. Is the nominal pressure correct? (Natural gas - 20 mbar, liquefied - 37 mbar). If not, then go to the gas service.

Check the presence of the ignition pressure after the valve gas. Does the valve open? Check the operation of the electrical part of the gas valve. Call the gas valve coils for a short-circuit and an open circuit. The resistance of the coil EV1 is 6800 Ohm, the EV2 coil is 880 Ohm, the modulation coil is 78 Ohm. Do the values correspond to the norm? If not, replace the damaged coil or gas valve.

Check the location, the presence of a gap between the ignition / ionisation electrodes. The standard gap is 3 ± 0.5 mm. Does the gap fit? Check the electrode cable for mechanical damage. Are there any damages? If the deviation is not significant, adjust the gap by bending the electrode tip or replace the reference electrode. If necessary, replace the electrode-board cable. Make sure there is no mechanical damage to the electrode body, is the ceramic shell intact? If not, replace the reference electrode.

Is there a spark between the electrodes and the burner? If not, then replace the control card. Check the gas train with injectors for dirt. Are there any deviations? If required, contact the gas service (for the quality of the gas mixture). Check the voltage at the moment of ignition on the line "board-valve": EV 1-U = 230V, ± 10%; EV 2-U = 230V, ± 10% Modulator - U 12V. Are the voltage values the same? If not, enter the service menu of the gas valve setting mode. Press and hold the SET button for three seconds. Did the boiler start? If yes, adjust the gas valve. If not, replace the control board.

Check the electrical connection and ground, the voltage should be 230V, ± 10%, 50Hz. Do the electrical characteristics correspond to the nominal? Check the power supply connector for the presence of a potential between Earth and Zero, and between the body of the device and Zero. Is there any voltage between these contacts? If not, check the ionisation current. Rated current with a flame of 1.5-4 μA. The minimum current at the ionization electrode is 0.5 μA. Are there any deviations? Replace the control board if there are no deviations. Check the ionization electrode for contamination, is there a build-up? If not, replace the electrode. Does the automation fix the flame? If so, restart the boiler and repeat the procedure. If not, replace the control board.

Error code E2 - Heat exchanger overheating. The thermostat of the coolant temperature overheating has triggered.

If an E2 error occurs on the E2 boiler, check whether the circulation pump works (with a magnetic detector, or visually, by unscrewing the front cover). Does the pump shaft rotate? Check the mud filters, the thermal head position (if any), shut-off or balancing valves, on the heating system. Shut-off valves in the open position? Is the filter clean? Rinse (clean) the filters or open the valve taps.

Check the pressure and the presence of air in the heating system. The pressure in a cold heating system should be 0,8-1,2 bar. Is the indication normal? Bleed the air from the heaters, make the heating system make up to 1.2 bar, loosen the plug of the automatic air puffer of the pump. Check the operation of the expansion tank (pressure is measured when there is no coolant in the device). Is the pressure in the tank 1 bar? Pump expansion tank (the air pressure in the tank should be 1 bar, provided there is no coolant in it).

Check the cable of the heat exchanger overheating sensor - the board for mechanical damage. Is the cable OK? Replace the cable. Check the heat exchanger sensor for faults. The contacts are normally closed to a temperature of 102C. The sensor requires replacement if

when heated to less than 102C, it breaks the electrical circuit between its contacts (normally open) or the contacts are corroded. Is the sensor OK? Replace the sensor.

Check the main heat exchanger for increased noise, vibration during operation of the Electrolux boiler burner with maximum power, as well as the presence of deposits, contaminants and soot particles between the plates or darkening spots. Is the heat exchanger visually clean? Rinse, clean the outer and / or inner surface of the heat exchanger or replace the heat exchanger. Check the electrical connection, the pump may not gain nominal RPM, the voltage should be 230V, ± 10%, 50Hz. Do the electrical characteristics correspond to the nominal? Install the voltage regulator with galvanic isolation, the minimum power is 0.4 kW.

Check the serviceability of the pump: open the terminal box using the tester and phase-zero leads, check the resistance of the stator winding of the pump motor. Rated resistance: 1st speed - 430 Ohm, 2nd - 320 Ohm, 3rd - 210 Ohm. Does the resistance correspond to the nominal? If necessary, replace the pump or board.

Rotate the pump shaft with a screwdriver, removing the plug. Does the shaft rotate? If not, remove the motor, check the impeller for mechanical damage. If necessary, replace the motor or pump assembly. If the shaft rotates, check the serviceability of the pump-board cable by ringing it. Is the cable OK? Replace the cable.

Measure the voltage applied to the pump from the control board, the voltage should be 230V, ± 10%, corresponds to the norm? If not, replace the control board. Check the serviceability of the pump: open the terminal box using the tester and phase-zero leads, check the resistance of the stator winding of the pump motor to an open or short circuit. Is the resistance normal (200 ohms)? If not, replace the board

management.

Error code E3 - The smoke exhaust fan is defective. Incorrect operation of the differential relay (pressure switch).

If the error E3 occurs on the boiler Electrolux after the fan is switched on, first check that the terminals are correctly connected to the contacts of the differential relay. Are the wiring terminals connected to the NO and COM terminals? Connect the terminals. Check (call) using a multimeter to operate the differential relay. When the fan is operating, the contacts NO and COM are normally closed? Check the fan cable - the board for mechanical damage. Is the cable OK? Replace the cable or control board.

Check the formation in the silicone tubing for condensate. Condensation is? Remove condensation. Check the membrane for the air pressure switch. Remove the silicone tube from the fan's cochlea, artificially create a small vacuum (draw air in the tube), if the membrane is functional, a characteristic click of the triggered microswitch will follow). Is the pressure switch working properly? Replace the air pressure switch.

Check the electrical connection, the fan may not gain nominal rpm, the voltage should be 230V, ± 10%, 50Hz. Do the electrical characteristics correspond to the nominal? Check the resistance of the fan windings (24-63 ohms, depending on the power of the Electrolux boiler). Is the resistance normal? Replace the fan or board.

Check the resistance of the fan windings (24-63 Ω depending on the power). Is the resistance normal? Replace the fan. Check the Venturi (It may have melted or clogged). Are there any deviations? Replace or clean the venturi. Check the chimney for blockage.

If the failure occurred during the cold season, make sure that there is no frost (ice) on the smoke removal system. The chimney is clean? Clean the chimney. We recommend installing a chimney for low temperatures. Check that the chimney is correctly assembled (along the length, turns, diameter, narrowing, presence of the diaphragm) for excessive resistance to flue gases. Is the chimney installed correctly? Assemble the chimney correctly.

Error code E4 - Low pressure in the heating system or malfunction of the circulation pump

If an E5 error occurs on the boiler, check the heating medium pressure on the display (more / less than 0.5 bar). Check visually the heating system for leaks. Are there leaks, leakage? Check the display pressure and the presence of air in the heating system. The pressure in a cold heating system should be 0,8-1,2 bar. Is the indication normal? Bleed the air from the heaters, make the heating system replenishing, loosen the pump's automatic air trap tube in the appliance.

Check the minimum pressure sensor cable - control board for mechanical damage. Is the cable OK? Replace the faulty cable. Check the serviceability of the electronic pressure sensor and its contacts for corrosion. Compare the readings of the electronic pressure sensor with the mechanical one, if there is a manometer. Is the electronic pressure sensor OK? If yes, replace the control board.

Check the operation of the expansion tank. Is the pressure in the tank 1 bar? (in the absence of coolant in the boiler Electrolux). Replace the safety valve, if necessary. Check the spool of the pin and the tank for leaks. Is the tank membrane sealed? Pump the expansion tank, replace the valve plug or tank assembly.

Check the serviceability of the pump: open the terminal box using the tester and phase-zero leads, check the resistance of the pump windings at different speeds for an open or short circuit. Standard resistance: 1st speed - 440 Ohm, 2nd speed - 330 Ohm, 3rd speed - 220 Ohm. Is the resistance normal? Replace the circulation pump.

If the heating medium pressure is more than 0.5 bar, restart the boiler. After starting the pump, make sure that the pressure on the display is increased by 0.1 bar. Is the pressure increased by 0.1 bar or more? Is the 3rd pump speed set? Set the 3rd pump speed and restart the boiler.

Check whether the pump is working (with a magnetic detector, or by removing the end screw, turn the pump shaft with a screwdriver). Does the pump shaft rotate easily? Check the impeller for mechanical damage. If necessary, replace the pump. Check the wire for damage by ringing it and the quality of the connection between the terminal clip and the pump wire. Damage is absent? Replace the cable. Check the mains voltage supplied to the pump. Voltage 220V ± 10%, 50 Hz? Install the voltage regulator.

Error code E6 / E7 - Malfunction of the sensor NTC DHW / heating system

Check the cable for mechanical damage and the quality of the connection between the terminal board of the control board and the cable of the temperature sensor. Is the cable damaged? Replace the cable.

Check the resistance of the semiconductor NTC heating sensor using a multimeter (10 kΩ at 25 ° C). The short-circuit of the temperature sensor or contacts may have corroded. If there is a short circuit or an open in the DHW temperature sensor circuit, the burner will continue to operate in the NTC mode, guided by the NTC sensor reading of the heating system. Does the sensor resistance correspond to the nominal value? Replace the NTC sensor or the control board.

Error code E9 - Anti-freeze system activated. The temperature in the heating circuit of the unit is below + 2 ° C.

If an error E9 occurs on the boiler, check whether the temperature of the heating circuit has fallen below + 2 ° C. Check the circulation in the heating system (inspect the supply and return pipes). Is the heat carrier circulating? Restart the device and restore the working state of the heating system, taking into account that the temperature of the boiler installation room should be more than + 2C.

Heat the heating system and the NTC heating sensor to temperatures above + 2C (for example, convectors or oil coolers under the unit and the heating area). Did the boiler start? Check the cable for mechanical damage and the quality of the connection between the terminal board of the control board and the cable of the temperature sensor. Is the cable damaged? Replace the cable. Check the operation of the NTC heating sensor by measuring its resistance (10 kΩ at 25C) with a multimeter. Is the sensor OK? Replace the heating NTC sensor or control board

Wait until the entire heating system has warmed to a temperature above + 2C, and remove external heat sources. The heating system is leakproof, is there leakage? Restart the device and restore the operating state of the heating system. Detect a faulty part of the unit or other radiators of the system by visual inspection and replace it.
