Kenmore Brand History

Kenmore is an American company, whose products are based on the principle: "maximum functions at the lowest price." Refrigerators are not the only technology Kenmore lets out. Today under the brand name Kenmore are produced washing machines, cleaning systems, sewing machines and other equipment, which has been popular with Americans for more than 90 years.

Kenmore has not been independent from the very beginning of its existence. In 1913, under the brand name Kenmore, Sears, the largest manufacturer of sewing accessories, started manufacturing its products. Sewing machines Kenmore were more convenient due to the foot control of the darning mechanism. This advantage was immediately appreciated by the tailoring company and textile factories. The success was so great that Sears decides to produce other household appliances under the Kenmore brand.

In 1927, Sears introduced its new product - washing machines Kenmore. And after another five years, the first Kenmore vacuum cleaner comes on the market. From the first days of technology, Kenmore has won the sympathy of the population with small and medium incomes. It was as simple as possible in operation, had a high-quality electric motor, and it did not fail with voltage drops. However, the increase in popularity was influenced by another factor: by the end of the 30s, the banking crisis was finally captured by the US. Many enterprises were forced to close the shops, as it was impossible to purchase raw materials and sell finished products, which by then had become too expensive for many. The company Sears has decided to contain price growth - despite the fact that the technology has ceased to generate revenue. But the company stayed afloat and gained fame as one of the most stable corporations.

In 1933, Sears officially registers Kenmore as a trademark of washing machines. In the same year there is a series of washing machines-centrifuges that not only wash, but squeeze out the laundry almost dry.

In 1936, the company assesses the success of the Kenmore brand, and the result is pleasantly surprising even to skeptical employees. For nine years of operation, the company sold under the Kenmore brand one million units of various equipment, including vacuum cleaners, washing, drying and sewing machines.

In the 70's and 90's, Sears continued the course started in the late forties - the production of various household appliances under the brand name Kenmore. In 1971, American consumers were able to get acquainted with Kenmore microwave ovens and compact dust collectors. The workshop on the production of sewing machines has expanded, which has now become fully automatic.

The traditional strategy of the company - "cheep & quality" - has borne fruit once again: kitchen appliances Kenmore has gained immense popularity. In 1984, a series of dishwashers Kenmore Ultra Wash was awarded the honorary title of "America's Best Dishwasher System". The largest US business publications noted that the Kenmore technique is one of the most frequently bought in the US, and among the manufacturers of vacuum cleaners Kenmore was the absolute leader, leaving behind even Hoover.

In the 90 years under the brand Kenmore come out the first refrigerators. It should be noted that the concern Sears carefully prepared for the release of refrigerators Kenmore. Kenmore refrigerators were supposed to become a repository of all achievements in the field of refrigeration equipment at that time and, at the same time, stay in the lower price segment.

In 1993, the company produces a series of "Super Efficient Refrigeration" refrigerators, which consume 29 percent less energy than stipulated by federal standards, have a five-year warranty and are much cheaper than all similar models. American buyers are beginning to actively purchase Kenmore refrigerators.

In 1995, an independent study of the home appliance market showed that 60 percent of US citizens prefer Kenmore to other brands. Such a grandiose success still allows Sears to remain an independent company.
