Mitsubishi Electric Brand History

The history of Mitsubishi Electric is the history of the development of modern Japan. The company was founded in 1921, when from Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. (today it is Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.) the spinning factory located in Kobe, which produced electric motors for ocean vessels, The new company was named Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

 

In the same year, having started the production and sale of electric fans, which quickly became the sales leader, the company entered the market of household electric equipment. Over the next 10 years, the company won a number of major contracts, including the creation of electric substations for Japanese railways.

 

In 1930, Mitsubishi Electric began the creation, installation and maintenance of elevators and escalators, as well as the production of equipment for power plants. The company continued to grow rapidly and actively expand its activities. By 1960, the company was one of the most innovative and diversified in Japan manufacturers of electrical equipment. In the early 60-ies the company began to develop production technologies, the emphasis in which was placed on a careful attitude to the environment. Since 1969 Mitsubishi Electric has been operating on the European continent - this year the company's representative office in the UK was established in the City of London. In 1996, the Dutch company Mitsubishi Electric Europe B. V. was established with headquarters in London, which united all European and part of the Middle Eastern divisions of Mitsubishi Electric.
