KOREASTAR Gas Boiler Error Codes

The unit is equipped with a self-diagnosis system, which notifies about malfunctions by symbols on the display. Errors marked with the A code cause the unit to be blocked. In this case, you must manually reset the device by pressing the Reset button. Errors marked with the code F cause the device to turn off temporarily with automatic activation after the parameter that caused the fault comes to the required values.

Error A01 - No flame signal.

Probable Causes: Gas does not flow to the burner. The ionization ignition electrode is malfunctioning or not working properly. Malfunction of the gas valve. There was a malfunction in the operation of the electronic control card.

Remedy: The shut-off valve is blocked. It is necessary to open all the locking devices installed on the gas pipe. During the first run, make sure that air is vented from the pipeline. Check the inlet gas pressure in front of the gas valve. The nominal pressure is 20 mbar (2 kPa). Check the compliance of the minimum and maximum gas pressures with the recommended values.

Adjust the Koreastar boiler under the gas pressure. Check the ignition / ionization electrode for contamination. Ensure that a nominal clearance of 3 ± 0.5 mm is set between the burner and the ignition / ionization electrode. Check the electrode cable for fur. damage. A gas valve is required. Check the quality of the ground. On the body of the unit there should be no potential. Restart the machine. If the error appears again, replace the electronic control board.

Error A02 - A false signal about the presence of a flame.

Probable causes: Ignition electrode ignition problem. Faulty electronic control card.

Remedy: Check the ignition / ionisation lead wire for the presence of a fur. damage and breakage. The ignition / ionization electrode touches the burner. Check the distance between the ignition / ionization electrode and the burner. The standard value is 3.5 ± 0.5 mm. Replace the control board.

Error A03 - Koreastar boiler overheats.

Probable causes: The bimetallic overheating sensor (emergency thermostat) switches on at a temperature of 90 degrees, and the unit's operation is blocked. There is air in the heating system. Weak circulation of water in the heating system.

Remedy: Wait for the unit to cool down, and then restart it. The overheating sensor is malfunctioning or operating incorrectly. Replace it. Remove the air from the system. Open all stopcocks that interfere with the normal circulation of the coolant. The power is supplied to the circulation pump, but it does not rotate. Check the pump for jamming. To do this, unscrew the brass plug on the end of the engine of the circulation pump and rotate the rotor with a face screwdriver several times, screw the plug into place. The circulation pump does not gain nominal RPM. Check the characteristics of the electrical network, the voltage should be 230V, ± 10%, 50Hz. When raising or

voltage reduction, it is required to connect the boiler to the mains via a stabilizer. Check the resistance of the stator winding of the pump motor to an open or short circuit. The pump operates in the correct mode, but the pressure is weak. Check the impeller for the presence of fur. damage. Restart the boiler. If the error appears again, replace the electronic control board. Replace the circulation pump.

Error A08 - The heating water overheating sensor is malfunctioning.

Possible causes: Temperature limiter defective.

Remedy: Check the sensor for an open or short. Replace the sensor.

Error F05 - The smoke removal system does not work correctly.

Probable causes: The air pressure switch does not work correctly. There is a malfunction in the fan. Litter of smoke removal pipes.

Remedy: Check the polarity of the connectors to the contacts of the air pressure switch. It is possible to stick the diaphragm of the air pressure switch. Remove the silicone tube from the fan's cochlea, artificially create a small discharge (operate as accurately as possible). The entire membrane will be followed by the sound of a triggered microswitch. Replace the air pressure switch. Measure the voltage that goes to the fan (voltage must be 220V). Check the connection of the connectors to the fan contacts. Clean the pipes of the smoke removal system. The occurrence of a malfunction during the first start of the unit indicates an incorrectly mounted chimney.

Fault F10 - NTC temperature sensor error.

Probable Causes: Short circuit or an open in the temperature sensor circuit.

Remedy: Check the resistance of the semiconductor sensor. The standard resistance of the sensor is 10 kOhm. There is no signal between the contacts of the temperature sensor and the connector of the electronic control card. Disconnect the connector of the temperature sensor from the connector of the board connector, and then reconnect them for the correct contact. Replace the sensor.

Fault F11 - The NTC sensor for NTC temperature is damaged.

Possible causes: Short circuit or open circuit of the hot water temperature sensor.

Remedy: If the hot water temperature sensor shorts or breaks (duration 3 seconds), the burner will not light up only in NTC mode. The appliance can continue to operate in heating mode. Check the resistance of the semiconductor sensor. The nominal resistance of the sensor is 10 kOhm. Check the connection quality of the hot water supply temperature sensor connector to the electronic control card. Replace the sensor.

Error F37 - The pressure in the heating system has been lowered.

Probable causes: The pressure in the heating circuit is set below 0.8bar (80kPa). Malfunction of the heating water pressure sensor.

Remedy: Check the heating system for possible leaks. Eliminate them and energize the system. Damage to the pressure sensor. If necessary, replace the sensor. Check the sensor connection. Replace the sensor.

Error F41 - Heat exchanger overheating.

Probable Causes: Presence of air in the heating system. Poor circulation.

Remedy: Remove air from the system. Open all stopcocks that interfere with the correct circulation of the coolant. When raising or lowering the voltage, it is required to connect the unit to the mains via a stabilizer. Check the resistance of the stator winding of the pump motor to an open or short circuit. The pump operates in the correct mode, but the pressure is weak. Check the impeller for the presence of fur. damage. Restart the boiler. If the error appears again, replace the electronic control board. Replace the circulation pump.

Error F50 - Incorrect operation of the electronic control board.

Possible causes: Control board fault.

Remedy: Check the absence of potential on the housing of the unit. Check the quality of the ground. There should be no potential on the case. Replace the board.
