Miele Brand History

The history of this company began in 1899-th year. Then in a small German town of Reda, a company for the production of milk separators was registered. Its founders are young entrepreneurs Karl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann.

The very first workshop was located in a small village called Herzebrok, in the heart of the country. The new company had a lot of competitors, but, nevertheless, a year later it was able to stand out among them developed by her universal manual milk separator.

In 1900, the company Miele also established the production of oil beads, which became incredibly popular. In 1902, the world saw the first washing machines, developed on the basis of oak barrels used in churns.

In 1907, Miele transferred production to the city of Gütersloh, located on a large industrial highway. Such an advantageous geographical position could accelerate the growth of the company. Thus, in three years it was the largest factory in the country specializing in the production of butter, separators and washing machines.

A great demand for products prompted the company's management to decide on the production of their own cars. But, unfortunately, this idea was not very successful and Miele again began to produce industrial equipment and household appliances. From the 20's to the 60's, the company began to produce bicycles. It was here that unique models of male and female bicycles were developed, which are a dream of many collectors.

In the 20's, the first vacuum cleaners, ironing and dishwashers Miele appeared.

During the Second World War, the company's activities were suspended. But right after its termination all forces have been thrown on civil manufacture and soon affairs have gone uphill. In the early 50's, a factory in Euskirchen specializing in the production of electric motors was opened. A few years later, the first automatic washing machine was released, later supplemented with a drying machine.

After 10 years, several more plants were opened and the range of Miele products significantly increased. In the 1970s, an electronic control module for dishwashers, washers and dryers was invented. This company was the first among competitors to develop electronic programs for saving electricity, water, and detergents. At the same time, the promotion of goods to foreign markets also began. Miele offices were opened in the USA, Canada, South Africa.

In 1986, Miele absorbed the firm Cordes, which was engaged in the production of microwave ovens and electric stoves. In 1990, she acquired the company Imperial, which manufactures embedded equipment. In Germany, opened a modern logistics center, and in Japan, one of the branches of the company.
